Bride of the Water God

Post by whyanime on Sun May 11, 2008 8:09 pm

If you haven't read this manhwa you should!!!! It's awesome. The storyline just keeps on twisting!! I can't wait for the next release. On top of that lots of bishies!!!!! Also, great artwork!!

Here's my favorite shot of the Water God ;)

Genre
Drama Fantasy Historical Romance Shoujo

From Entropy:
Soah is a girl from a small village. The Water God, Habaek, has been angered and devastates the people with parched lands and ceaseless drought. In order to appease the god, the villagers offer Soah as a sacrifice, a bride for the Water God in exchange for rain. Abandoned by her family and left to the whim of an angered god, Habaek rescues her to his Water Kingdom where her new life begins. For Soah, this is a story of her faith. Her life. Her love...

-------------------------------------------

From Dark Horse:
When Soah's impoverished, desperate village decides to sacrifice her to the Water God Habaek to end a long drought, they believe that drowning one beautiful girl will save their entire community and bring much-needed rain. Not only is Soah surprised to be rescued by the Water God-instead of killed-she never imagined she'd be a welcomed guest in Habaek's magical kingdom, where an exciting new life awaits her! Most surprising, however, is the Water God himself... and how very different he is from the monster Soah imagined.

Ah Habaek. Soah is so misunderstood, especially in the latest chapters, with no one believing her. Then the other guy, the one with the long hair, is so sweet sometimes but is hard to understand. Does he really like her or is he just thinking of her as a replacement for Nakbin. And then there's Habaek, and will he just make up his mind about who he really loves. Is he still in love with Nakbin or is he in love with Noah? I can't wait till I find out what happens next. XD

I adore this series! I am so angry that the scanlations skip a whole 5 chapters or something, so I refuse to read what has been traslated past volume 3...

Habaek is AWESOME!! I also find his mother quite amazing, in a creepy way. I love the part where they are at the carnival with the masks...

Ah, his name is Hooye. Yeah...I don't really get what his intentions are either. It's almost like he's testing her to see if
she really does love Habeak or not. Then again it's like he likes her as well.

Habeak needs to get over Nakbin!!! Poor Soah....I guess it's like that when you're the sacrificed :?:

Ah, I can't wait for the English version. I can understand the published version better. Maybe they add a few more lines
or whatever but it makes sense when I read it. Besides the art work itself is great enough to purchase the book too. :D

This manwha is sooo good. It's pretty confusing at time when it flashes back and forth, but I really enjoy this story. I think the adult Haebak is a hottie...especially when he comes from the water...

THe story is a little confusing, but its not nearly as bad as some other ones, the art is great, all of these character interactions keep the story nice and tense

I like the manwha. The drawing arts are really just awesome. The story is interesting but I can't really understand everything. Maybe it's because I still have many to read but it's really mysterious!! I like it but hold my opinion for until the end!! :D

I love the manwha in general. I think as everybody. The arts are really awesome! The story and the characters are interesting and so cute but it's true that sometimes it's quite difficult to understand...good luck :lol!:

I love this manhwa so much! The artwork is just stunning!! At times the storyline is a bit
confusing, but I love it so much! I hope that Soah and Mui/Habaek find happiness together. It
seems that there are many who don't want that, and so they both have to endure endless trials
and troubles.

It's not easy to write about this manhwa, 'cause its comlicated plot, and unclear characters relationships make reading quite a problem(at least for me). I remember I had a hard time trying to figure out who's in the Water Kingdom on the Habaek's side, who's on his mother's(still halfway through T_T).
Maybe I'm mistaken about complicated plot...'cause the result is easily predicted, but the story itself is quite sophisticated. Lots of secondary characters with their own bunch of problems to sort out with Habaek and Soah... it really makes you read with attention... gya~ and sometimes I wanted to drop it, 'cause it seemed pretty boring...
but... oh that drawing style Love Habaek is so Love and Soah, too Love that I didn't have heart to remove it from my reading list :P
