Your Input is needed. Writer need help on Genres!

Post by rmr34 on Thu Aug 28, 2008 9:55 pm

Hi. I'll like to know what genre do you like to read.
I love writing, and I like writing my own stories and fanfic. I like to get your input!
Most, ok all my stories are romance, has to be, I'm a romantic! xD
Anyway. I've wrote some stories, ranging from Vampires to demons to Gender Benders (Starting writing. But I like to write other stories that some might read.)

One thing: I don't do Yaoi or Yuri stories. I like straight romances, but hints are okay. Read "Looks are Deceiving" It has shoujo-ai like elements but not shoujo-ai, uh, I think. @-@
Disappointed I don't even know. Boy, ain't I a grand writer. Stressed

But, yeah.
Main character = Female
Hero = Male

Genres I'm interested in writing

Time Traveling (Past to Future or Future to Past, or Present to Future @_@.. I'll like to know what time era you like. Example: The 1950's or 1800's or 2015.
Historical (.... I don't know, but I might do one.)
Space/Scifi story (Kinda like a hot alien from outerspace kidnaps the main character, or one visits xD)
Werewolves (...I like Werewolves so I might do one.)
Misunderstanding (Where either the main Character is misunderstood or the hero)
And if there's more let me know!

Also, what POV do you like. 1st or 3rd?

Thank you.

Oh also, Fanfiction. I've been thinking of branching in other anime. What anime should I write fanfic of? And do you like original characters or just the character in the story to be involved. Example: My OCxKurama(YYH) or InuyashaxKagome. DO not except me to do a Kurama x anyone else! Kurama mine! I'll cry if I write about him and someone else other than me! I mean my OC! Sad
also, straight romance only for fanfic too.

ALSO! What about a Alice in Wonderland theme? Has anyone heard of a video game called Heart no Kuni no Alice? It's a otome game that has two more sequels and has novels, and manga, and now is being turned into an anime! xD I've been wanting the game for a long times now. I've been thinking of doing a story to like it.

Well, if you want to write something go ahead. One of the great things about writing is that you don't need anyone else's to approve it.

I can't really say which I like best, because I read all those genres and love them. I do like stories that mix vampires and werewolves best though...

I like third person POV. First person has been overdone since Twilight came out.

And love triangles that made the girl want to rip out her hair and cry. And that's why I haven't been on Sherbet Lemon.

Thanks. I just like to know what others like to read. I'm more of Vampires and werewolves reader myself, and supernatural romance, just basically what I have written so far. I mostly like reading about a human female with a male vamp or wolf or something.

I tend to write in 1st pov, but I'm trying to write 3rd pov also. I have a couple that is 3rd pov but I only got a couple of chapters wrote so far, plus I'm going to write another story which I'm aiming for it to be 3rd pov, but I like 1st pov when coming to romances. It's like it's I'm the one in the story or something. But, the one story I'm writing, that's 3rd pov, is, I think I've done a good job so far. Yes I need to put more details or whatever, but I think too much details and not story is boring. So I don't worry about putting much details in it, just a little though is ok. I'm trying through.
