I've recently gotten into jpop through my friends. I actually really love a lot of the jpop music, especially the ones that manage to be really different. My favorite artists as of now are Ayaka and Utada Hikaru~ What are some of yours?

Also being so familiar with kpop, some singers I would recommend are Gummy/Gummi/Gumy and Lyn, though they aren't what one would consider "standard" kpop. Some other kpop singers that other people would recommend?

what das Jpop stand for btw what does it mean never heard of it.. same with kpop...

Isn't Jpop just japanese pop music and Kpop Korean pop music? Anyway, for japanese pop music, I like Utada Hikaru also and Ai Otsuka. Kinki Kids and Dragon Ash are also good. Korean pop music I don't follow but I do like listening to them.

I like Lyn also, but never heard of Gummy/Gummi/Gumy. For j-pop, I like utada Hikaru also and I like L'arc En Ciel.

A must-hear Jpop band is DBSK. they have some reali nice music, and they're so cute. search Banjun Theatre DBSK on Youtube for a good laugh and to check these guys out. i don't think they sing in the show, but you can check out their acting skills.

Oh my gosh! i luv korean POP, I'm not korean but i kust luv everything about korean! i luv to be korean^^ ahaha (my fav singer is Chae Yeon, you guys should lcheckout her newest album!_)

I like Utada Hikaru and Ai Otsuka. I don't really like many Jpop Idol Groups, but I really like Arashi and Kat-tun, mostly Arashi. And for Kpop, I like DBSK, Super Junior, and Younha. But I mostly listen to Jrock and alternative rock.

ooowww same here. I'm finally just getting into Asian international music. I don't really know any good ones...all the ones I like are OLD stuff. Jpop I like Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki...umm Jrock: Miyavi, Gackt, An cafe, Dir en grey, Alice Nine...ummm kpop I like Bi-Rain, Se7en, Hyori Lee, DBSK, Lexy, Wheesung, Taebin....errr any suggestions to new stuff???

Welll is depend...i prefer jpop...because the language is more accesible....you know...

I like both but not alot I still like plain old simple English more since I can actually understand English...and C/M-Pop sucks...it really sucks...(well not all of it sucks)

I mostly listen to Jpop, specifically YUI, Utada, OLIVIA (although she's rather dead now), Otsuka Ai, Mika Nakashima a bit, Mink (who is korean and sings in Japan), and I've gotten into some new artists that debuted: Alan and Kana Nishino.
As for Kpop, I mainly listen to Epik High and Wonder Girls.

Ditto, I stick to English because even though songs may have nice music, I like to understand lyrics. I do have the odd J-pop song from various anime I've watched lol.

Same as Gogo. All I know how to say in Japanese is "Godzilla wants to eat a Panda," so I just stick with my rock and metal with their English lyrics...

I would suggest Big Bang,Shinwha, Super Junior, Se7en, and Epik High, I love these guys

Well I actually sort of just got back into asian music. I"m into Boa, Arashi and maybe a few songs from DBSK

Well Im more into Kpop than Jpop mostly because I knew most of Kpops from my friends~ I love 8eight, Fly to the sky, SG wannabe, Vibe and many more... but for Jpop I guess I love ryohei, ken hirai, sowelu, yui is great too~!
